LEARN FROM "il maestro"
In 2022 a series of seminars will be open in his hometown in Umbria, where directors, journalists, ethnologists, and the media will meet to study, discuss and inspire each other.
Participants will make short films on-site about personalities, landmarks, and events in the area. Assembled on-site, the films will be shared and submitted for feedback, as examples of practice for future and larger projects.
In a dreamlike and informal setting in the Tuscan-Umbrian countryside, Mario Gianni will explain the method of cinematic storytelling he has developed over the decades.
Through examples and practical exercises, he will give seminar participants new perspectives on their work or offer guidance to start developing a body of work.
LOCATION
Tenuta di Poggiolame: this unique place in the historical landscape of Umbria offers the ideal conditions to make this type of training possible. The large farm has been finely restored, offers every comfort, and is secluded so that you can concentrate on the theme of the seminar.
